SARDONIS - II - Review

II cover art

Sardonis are a two-man Sludge/Stoner Metal Band from Belgium.

Sardonis are a hard-hitting two-man demolition crew specialising in instrumental Sludge/Stoner Metal destruction that only they can deliver.

They blasted onto the scene with their acclaimed 2010 S/T debut which had fans blown away with their heavy riffage and showing what a two-man band can actually do.

I first heard of these great Sludge Rockers back in 2011 and I loved their style on Instrumental Sludge/Stoner Metal.

Imagine Karma To Burn being in a duel with High On Fire then this should tell you the intensity of Instrumental Sludge Metal these talented dudes play.

Well the guys are back with their best and most crushing work to date - II - A 7 song and 37 minute juggernaut of high voltage Instrumental Sludge/Stoner Metal.

This album just fucking rocks from the word go especially on first track "Burial Of Men". A 6:37 minute powerhouse of amazing fast-paced Sludge Riffs that will have you in it's power in no time at all.

For a two man band these guys are fucking loud. And things never do go quiet. The album is full of heavy pounding riffs that will make your jaw drop at times.

Tracks like "Warmonger", "The Drowning" and "Emperor" are filled with top-notch Sludge/Stoner Metal riffs to pound your skull to. At times its like a machine gun going off at full blast.

And is about as deadly as well. Fucking amazing stuff. The riffs are played fast and furious unlike any other instrumental band I have heard in years.

The album's best track is the 9:33 minute epic - "Aftermath Of Battles" a song that gets under your skin from the start with its brutal blend of mid-tempo riffage for the first 2 minutes or so. Then like an actual battle all hell breaks loose. The instrumental work on this track is just amazing and shows what a talented band Sardonis actually are.

This album is getting some major praise at the moment. It's not hard to see why. It's a brilliant album from a top-notch Instrumental Sludge Metal band.

I will admit I am blown away each time I listen to this ablum. I was so impressed I bought the Vinyl Record right away. And it sounds even better on Vinyl. I would say it's the perfect album for vinyl. You can hear every note played to loud and heavy perfection.

Fucking Awesome. End Of!!!

You can buy this brilliant album from BandCamp right now. I urge you check these guys out right now.

Highly Recommended.
