GOYA are a brilliant Sludge/Stoner Metal Band with a groovy and healthy appetite of DOOM.

Here is their bio which should tell you all you need to know.

"Goya is a stoner doom metal three piece from Phoenix, Arizona. They started playing shows in April and released their demo in September. Consisting of members of various Phoenix area metal and punk bands, and influenced by bands such as Electric Wizard, Sleep and Black Sabbath, they enjoy smoking reefer, turning their amps all the way up and contemplating the end the universe."

Their Demo is simply unmissable. It's 5 tracks that runs for a blistering 38 minutes or so. If your a fan of Electric Wizard, Sleep and the mighty Sabbath then you going to love this one like I did from my first listen.

This album is simply a brilliant album you all need to check out now. It has a very cool DIY edge to it. Especially with the vocals as they have a great 'garage rock' feel to them. But the album is full of amazing riffs that harks back to the day where the riffs was king. And it still is especially where GOYA is concerned.

Each of the 5 tracks show that this band with a bright future indeed. They know how to play a mighty damn fine riff with great vocals to match. Especially sublime track - God Lie, Blackfire, Morning Sun and the 11:29 minute epic - Night Creeps

My fave track has to be Opoponax - A 5:22 minute instrumental track which is powered all by a brilliant riff etched in Weed and Smoke. A nod to the classic bands of the Doom/Stoner/Sludge Metal genres. This is the song that will have you head-banging or shaking your fist in the air in almighty victory party. Believe me this song is fan-fucking-tastic.

A true balls-to-the-wall Sludge/Stoner Metal riff driving it all the way through. Fucking Awesome.

The album is superbly produced and has a great Punk DIY Edge to it. Which gives it a very gritty feel. It's got the right feel and sound which I applaud the band for.

So another brilliant release for you all to check out right now. As it's available on free download from BandCamp. If you want a physical CD then GOYA are selling copies from their BandCamp Page too.

Fucking Awesome and Highly Recommended.
