Yesterday's Graves cover art

The Weir is an Ambient/Sludge/Post-Metal Band from Calgary, Canada.

The members are:

Alex Kurth
Jim Hudson
Sergey Jmourovski

So I have to thank Jim for contacting me to check out his excellent band - The Weir. And thank fuck he did.

What we have here folks is a hard-hitting Sludge/Post-Metal band you all need to check out now. If you want some epic Sludge/Post-Metal riffs then The Weir are the band for you. Their debut album - Yesterday's Graves - is a powerhouse of Sludge/Post-Metal riffs.

Taking influence from the usual hard-hitters - Isis, Cult Of Luna, The Ocean and Neurosis. The Weir do add some cool Doom Metal vibes and even Prog Rock to their style of hard-hitting riffs.

Yestearday's Graves impressed me from the very start. Mainly with the excellent lyrics, riffs and vocals. All combining for an excellent album you surely need to check out now. Check out great tracks such as - Yesterday's Graves, Sinking Burn, Le Belle Curve and my fave track - ...Of Wounds. An epic 11 minute track that will send you on an emotional action packed journey that only a great Sludge/Post-Metal band can do.

Canada already has two great Sludge/Post-Metal bands in Alaskan and Titan at their disposal. Now they can add The Weir to that list. These guys are seriously superb. The album sounds incredible which is not surprising it was mixed and mastered by Craig Boychuk. A well respected audio engineer within the Canadian Metal scene. I know him mainly from his work with Fuck The Facts and Mares Of Thrace. Craig makes sure these guys sound incredible and they do.

Look just download Yesterday's Graves now. It's an excellent album from start to finish. It's available on Buy Now Download on BandCamp. So headover and download it now.

If you don't download this now then your seriously missing out. No question.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
